Frequently Asked Questions
What are your rates?
Wedding investments begin at $5500 for coverage with a custom wedding album for high season/large events. Our petite wedding event coverage/off-season coverage starts at $3900. Please contact us for a full interactive rate-sheet.
Can you hold our wedding date?
Yes, provided we’ve received a signed digital contract and retainer. Due to the number of inquiries we receive and the busy nature of wedding season, we cannot hold “potential” dates, nor can we tell you if and when someone is interested in your hopeful timeslot. If you’re interested in hiring us, please do so ASAP!
How far in advance should we book you?
Most of our clients book us a year or so in advance, while others manage with a few months. Either way, the earlier you inquire, the more likely it is we are available. We take a select few wedding clients in order to give each one the best possible experience – so if you want to be one of them, don’t delay!
How would you describe your style of photography?
We love raw emotion, simple beauty, and natural poses. Flattering light and backgrounds that complement our couples are signature trademarks. Whatever our so-called style, we work to bring out the connection between our couples – we won’t interrupt a moment, and we won’t pose situations that already work.

The majority of our images are natural, unposed, and the result of limited intrusion; however, there are times (often discussed well in-advance) where we’ll work with you to create a particular artistic vision.
Okay, we love your style but would love to also have some posed family photos-is this something you do?
Absolutely. We do traditional portraiture at most of our weddings – even the most modern bride still wants the heirlooms that family portraiture creates. However, we do ask that you keep your lists short and manageable. Our focus is on capturing your family as they are; we don’t want to bog your special day down with posed shoot after posed shoot.
Can you show me a full wedding gallery online?
Of course! Most photographers can manage a few good photos at any event, but consistency is the mark of a professional. It’s important for you to evaluate wedding photographers based off of a full wedding gallery. These are major moments and there are no repeats or redos. We take immense pride in being able to produce stellar imagery for each and every wedding we are lucky enough to document.
How long have you been photographing weddings?
We were established in 2004, and since then, we have photographed over 350 weddings-in all conditions, snow, rain, indoor, outdoor, tented, etc. Our experience creating magical images in ALL conditions is one of our strongest attributes!
We live out of state. Is that a problem?
Not at all – the majority of our weddings are booked by clients living in a different state. It’s a point of pride that working with us is as easy as possible for these clients. We’d love to set up a phone chat!

And if you decide we’re the photographers for you, we can provide digital contracts so you don’t even need to leave the house. Alternatively, you can set up a face-to-face meeting if your wedding preparations bring you close to us. Just let us know what works for you!
How much coverage do we need for our day?
“Wedding time” is quite different from real time. You might feel that there will be a lot of time set aside, but trust us – the day goes by fast, especially if there are any setbacks.

The best advice we can offer is that you arrange the bulk of your coverage earlier in the day instead of later. Typical weddings require a minimum of 1.5 to 2 hours for the bride and groom preparation images. Then, it’s usually another 1.5 hours if you need a first look. After all the major events (e.g. first dances, toasts, cake cutting, etc.), we like to stay about 20 or so minutes into the guest dancing.

We strongly recommend you give yourself the gift of extra time. It saves your nerves and ensures better photos!
How many images will we receive from our wedding?
We usually provide 30-40 images per hour of coverage for each photographer hired.
How long before our wedding photos are ready?
Finished images are usually provided within 8 to 10 weeks. We select the best images to tell your distinct wedding story, and we edit them to bring out their inherent beauty. The thought and care that goes into our images can’t be rushed. This ensures that each client and each image is given the respect they deserve.
We’re excited about our wedding album! But how does it work? Do we choose the images or do you?
We do the hard work by designing the initial album layout. From there, we offer a full round of changes at no extra charge (for storytelling coffee table albums) so that we’re certain you’re getting everything you want.
Do we receive our digital wedding negatives?
Yes, of course! Your wedding day negatives will arrive on your first anniversary or with your coffee table wedding album – it depends on your choice of package. The negatives come in the form of high-resolution images with no watermarks.
Do we have to feed you at the wedding?
It would be super nice if you did. A hot meal gives us the energy we need to perform our best for the remainder of your wedding. Alternatively, we can leave your event to eat – but that can be difficult for us, and it can cause us to miss important moments, something we would hate to have happen. We don’t necessarily need to sit with your guests. As long as we are close enough to act on anything that may happen, we’re happy.
We need vendor suggestions – can you help?
Absolutely. We’ve worked with some amazing vendors around during our decade of wedding photography in the metro Detroit area. Once you book us, we provide a recommended vendor list made up of the most talented, most comprehensive, and most kind-hearted people we’ve had the pleasure to work with. We also recommend that you consider a planner or event designer. While we can offer vendor suggestions, we can’t plan a timeline of your day or help you organize vendors – our focus is on capturing your day.
